HOUSE
FIRE ON RAYSTOWN ROAD
Oct 26th - The 35-04
box was struck for a house fire at 190011
Raystown Road in Hopewell Township on Monday
afternoon at 11:50. Chief 35 arrived on
scene with smoke and fire coming from the C
side on Division 1 of the Single family
dwelling. He assumed command and ordered
Engine 35 under the direction of Assistant
35-3 to perform an interior attack from the
A side. Truck 35 was assigned to ladder the
roof and prepare for vertical ventilation.
Tanker 35 nursed the Engine during the
attack. All remaining units from Station 36,
17 & 3 due on the box were staged along
Raystown Road with their manpower brought
to the scene to assist with salvage and
overhaul. 35's Engine company had a quick
knock on the fire holding it to the kitchen
area only. The structure was ventilated and
additional salvage work was completed
following the successful attack. Chief 35
cleared the box at 13:01.
HOUSE
FIRE ON SHOUP STREET IN THE BOROUGH
Oct 25th - Company 35
along with all other companies due on the
35-01 box were dispatched for an early
morning house fire on Shoup Street in
Saxton on Sunday at 02:49. 35 arrived on
scene with heavy smoke on Division 2 of the
two story residential structure . After
assuring everyone was out of the dwelling,
Chief 35 assumed command and ordered an
offensive attack on the second floor fire.
Engine 35 arrived and advanced handlines via
the stairs to the second floor and under the
direction of Captain 35-3 brought the fire
under control almost immediately, holding it
to the room of origin only. Hydrualic
ventilation was performed by the Engine
company while the Truck company laddered the
buiding for extensive debris removal from
the fire room. Staffing from 36 and 17 were
used for this operation along with other
salvage and overhaul tasks. Wagon 36 worked
the hydrant suupling water thru tanker 35 to
Engine 35. Rescue 36 was staged on the
address for light tower operations. Engine 3
stood by in 35's house during the job. Chief
35 placed the box back in service at 04:36.

AUTOMATIC ALARM AT SETON
Oct 23rd - The 35-01 box
was dispatched for an automatic alarm at the
Seton Company on Friday at 17:06. Chief 35
arrived on scene with normal conditions. The
alarm panel was showing the first floor labs
as the area of activation so Engine LT 35-1
and crew were assigned to investigate.
Nothing was found so Chief 35 had
their plant services notified to come and
reset the alarm system noting false
activation. All units were back in quarters
and ready at 17:16.
DRIVER FLEES SCENE AFTER MVA
Oct 22nd - Company 35 and
Rescue 17 were dispatched for a motor
vehicle crash near the Midway Bar in Carbon
Township on Thursday at 22:06. While enroute
Chief 35 and responding apparatus were
notified the vehicle involved had crashed
several more times along Broad Top Mountain
Road but left each of the accident
locations. Chief's investigation found no
vehicle as reported and placed all units
back in service and left 35 Fire Police LT.
35-2 at the scene of the first occurrence to
meet PSP. The call ended at 22:21.
MVA
IN LINCOLN TWP
Oct 18th - Company 3 and
Rescue 35 were dispatched for a motor
vehicle accident on Raystwon Road and Double
D Lane on Sunday morning . Deputy Chief 3
arrived on the scene with no entrapment and
minor injuries and placed Rescue 35
available at 07:12.
ROLLOVER ON ROUTE 164
Oct 16th
- Company 35 was called out for and SUV
rollover crash on Route 164 near the top of
the mountain on Friday at 15:07. Chief 35
was informed this no injury accident
occurred nearly 40 minutes prior to the
call, so he downgraded the response to
traffic control only. rescue 35 was stage at
Route 26 & 164 with 35 Fire Police handling
on scene traffic control until PSP and the
towing service cleared the scene. The call
was over at 15:46.
FIRST
CHIMNEY FIRE OF THE SEASON IN STONERSTOWN
Oct 14th
- Company 35 was dispatched for a chimney
fire at 1217 Liberty Street on Wednesday at
11:02. The homeowner held the fire in check
with a garden hose until the arrival of 35
apparatus. Captain 35-3 led the
extinguishment operation of the
interior furnace pipe fire resulting in no
damage to the structure. The furnace pipe
system was cleaned. All units were back
in quarters and ready at 11:48.
TANKER ASSIST ON BARN FIRE IN WOODBURY TWP
Oct 11th - Tanker 35 was
dispatched to assist Blair County Station 80
with a Barn Fire on Sunday night at 23:19.
The Tanker crew assisted on scene with
overhaul operations while the tanker staged
with other tankers for on scene water
supply. Tanker 35 was back in station at
01:07.
CRASH
ON RAYSTOWN ROAD
Oct 8th - Company 35 and
Rescue 36 were called to a motor vehicle
crash on Raystown Road in Liberty Township
on Thursday at 17:24. Deputy Chief 36
arrived on the scene to find a one car crash
blocking both lanes. Further assessment by
the Deputy confirmed no entrapment and
no serious injuries to the only occupant.
Rescue 35 was assigned to scene safety and
traffic control. Rescue 36 blocked traffic
flow on Route 26 at the Riddelsburg bridge.
The incident was terminated at 18:06
following the PSP investigation and vehicle
removal.
WIRES
DOWN WITH A BRUSH FIRE
Oct 7th - The 35-03 box
was called out on a local alarm on Carberry
Road for wires down with fire. Engine 35
with Assistant 35-2 arrived on scene to find
a small brush fire resulting from electrical
wires on the ground. The fire was
extinguished quickly and Pen Elec was
notified of the problem. Assistant 35-2
deemed the scene safe and placed the box
back in service at 17:35.
